Dynamic vision sensors (DVS): scanning individual pixels or pixel regions based on image data, for example where the scanning is based upon time events, level changes or exposure level. The figure below shows an example of a pixel for such sensor.
Circuitry and control thereof of DVS pixels:
- pre-amplifier stages, which often include a current to voltage converter (e.g. block 410)
- difference or subtractor stages (e.g. block 430)
- comparator stages (e.g. block 440)
- storages of event flags in DVS pixels (e.g. memories in the pixel arbiter to store events until they are read)
- circuitry of arbiters and read-out stages of DVS pixels
- DVS pixels with an intensity pixel output, e.g. including an active pixel sensor (APS) pixel part. The photodiode can be shared or two separate diodes in pixels
- DVS pixels used to control an active pixel sensor (APS) pixel output
- DVS pixels with multiple thresholds to detect more than a ON/OFF event,
- control of threshold and bias settings of DVS pixels, e.g. a global or local signal setting or controlling either bias currents or threshold voltages of DVS pixels
- reduction of noise events detected by DVS sensors
- binning or spatial filtering of DVS pixels
