[DE] Vorgeschlagen wird ein Verfahren zum selbsttätigen Installieren einer Hilfseinheit (30) an einem Computer (10), der auf die Hilfseinheit (30) noch nicht eingerichtet ist. Bei Anschluß einer neuen Hilfseinheit (30) an den Computer wird eine Anmelderoutine (18) durchgeführt, innerhalb derer zum Betrieb der Hilfseinheit (30) benötigte Betriebsroutinen (24) installiert werden, nach deren Installation die Hilfseinheit (30) von einem Grundmodus in einen hilfseinheitsspezifischen Betriebsmodus umschaltbar ist. Wenn die Betriebsroutinen (24) in dem Computer (10) noch nicht vorhanden sind, werden sie zunächst von der Hilfseinheit (30) an diesen übertragen. Erfindungsgemäß erfolgt die Feststellung, ob eine benötigte Betriebsroutine (24) übertragen werden muß, indem auf dem Computer (10) ein Hintergrundprozeß (20) installiert wird, der bei Anschluß einer Hilfseinheit (30) prüft, ob eine von der Hilfseinheit (30) auf Anforderung durch den Computer (10) rückübermittelte Kennungsinformation (50) in dem Computer (10) bereits gespeichert ist.
[EN] The invention relates to a method for the automatic installation of an auxiliary unit (30) on a computer (10) which is not yet set up for the auxiliary unit (30). When a new auxiliary unit (30) is connected to the computer, a logon routine (18) is carried out, in which operating routines (24) required to operate the auxiliary unit (30) are installed, after which the auxiliary unit (30) can be switched from a basic mode to an operating mode specific to the auxiliary unit. If the operating routines (24) are not yet available in the computer (10), they are first transmitted from the auxiliary unit (30) to the computer. According to the invention, a background process (20) installed on the computer (10) determines whether a required operating routine (24) must be transmitted, said background process checking, when an auxiliary unit (30) is connected, whether an identification information message (50) transmitted back from the auxiliary unit (30) to the computer on request is already stored in the computer (10).
[FR] L'invention concerne un procédé permettant l'installation automatique d'une unité auxiliaire (30) sur un ordinateur (10) qui n'est pas encore équipé d'une telle unité (30). Lors du raccordement d'une nouvelle unité auxiliaire (30) à l'ordinateur, on met en oeuvre une routine de jonction (18) au cours de laquelle des routines de fonctionnement requises (24) sont installées en vue de l'exploitation de l'unité auxiliaire (30), installation selon laquelle l'unité auxiliaire (30) peut être commutée d'un mode de base en un mode fonctionnement spécifique de ladite unité auxiliaire. Dans le cas où les routines de fonctionnement (24) sont inexistantes dans l'ordinateur (10), elles sont tout d'abord transférées de l'unité auxiliaire (30) à l'ordinateur. L'invention est caractérisée en ce qu'on détermine si une routine de fonctionnement requise (24) doit être transférée, en installant sur l'ordinateur (10) un processus de sauvegarde (20) qui contrôle, lors du raccordement d'une unité auxiliaire (30), si une information d'identification (50) retransmise, sur demande, par l'ordinateur (10), à partir de l'unité auxiliaire (30), est déjà mémorisée dans l'ordinateur (10). |
