57 Zusammenfassung AB [EN] To provide a photoelectric device 10 for measuring distance to an object in a monitored area 26.SOLUTION: A device includes: a light emitter 12 for transmitting coherent emission light 16 into a monitored area 26; a light receptor 32 for receiving receipt light 28 from the monitored area 26; and control and estimation units 34 configured to put a code sequence on the emission light 16 by modulation to compare a code sequence in the receipt light 28 with a well-known code sequence in the emission light 16 as reference criteria, thereby measuring light propagation time to specify distance from the time. The control and estimation units 34 are configured to put further the code sequence on a light wave itself as a shape of a phase modulation. A part of the emission light 16 is guided to the light receptor 32 as reference light 18, where it interferes with the receipt light 28, and the light receptor 32 detects the interference signal generated in the light receptor.SELECTED DRAWING: Figure 1
