[EN] 1,181,657. Biologically active compositions containing pyrimidinyl-carbamates. IMPERIAL CHEMICAL INDUSTRIES Ltd. 3 March, 1967 [31 March, 1966], No. 14272/66. Headings A5B and A5E. [Also in Division C2] A biologically active composition comprises a diluent and a 2-amino pyrimidinyl-6-caribamate or a salt thereof, suitably of the formula: wherein X and Y are oxygen or sulphur, R 1 and R 2 , and additionally, R 5 and R 6 , represent hydrogen or substituted or unsubstituted hydrocarbon groups, or together with the adjacent N-atom, a substituted or unsubstituted heterocyclic ring and R 3 and R 4 represent hydrogen or halogen atoms, substituted or unsubstituted hydrocarbon groups joined directly or through an O-, S- or N- atom to the pyrimidine ring, or together represent an alkylene bridging group. The active compounds or compositions containing them may be applied to animals (A) externally in the form of dips, sprays, dusting powders or ointments, (B) orally in the form of tablets, capsules, boluses, suspensions, emulsions or solutions when the compositions may contain inert carriers, lubricating agents, and granulating and disintegrating agents, or (C) parenterally in the form of sterile solutions, suspensions or emulsions which may also contain conventional excipients such as solvents or vegetable oils. The veterinary compositions may also contain other substances of known veterinary utility such as anthelmintics and/or bactericides. The active compounds or compositions containing them may also be applied to plants, to seeds or to soil, or to surfaces to exhibit a fumigant effect. As described above, the other additives which may be added to the active composition depend on whether the composition is to be used for agricultural, horticultural or veterinary purposes. The diluent may be a solid (e.g. a granular or fertilizer material) or a liquid (e.g. water or an organic solvent and other additives e.g. adhesives, wetting agents, fillers, suspending agents, dispersing agents, emulsifying agents, fertilizers and other biologically active compounds, may be present. The active composition suitably contains from 0.001 to 85% by weight of the active compound and it may be stabilized by the addition of a stabilizing agent such an epoxide, e.g. epichlorohydrin. |
