[Class 80 (iii)] [See also Group XXXI] In mechanism of the type in which a single cable extends from an actuating lever and is connected through a compensating coupling to two cables associated with the parts to be actuated, the coupling is formed from a tough steel blank, has a laterally projecting grooved saddle portion 11 over which is adapted to ride the inner cable 5 of the mechanisms 6, 7 to the actuated parts, and a projecting lug 8 to be engaged by the nipple of the inner member 3 of the actuating mechanism 4. The coupling is enclosed in a junction box 1 which may be secured, e.g. by a clip to a cycle frame, the members 6, 7 being connected to the brakes. Guiding means 13, 17, 18 for the several outer members are supported partly by the box body 14 and partly by a cover secured thereto by a screw. |
