[EN] Linear, carboxy-functional organosiloxane compounds in which terminal carboxyl groups are attached to the polysiloxane chain via polyether chains and spacer groups. Linear, carboxy-functional organosiloxane compounds of formula (I). [Image] a : 1-150; R 1>aliphatic or aromatic hydrocarbyl; R 2>-(Y)[O(C 2H 4-b(R 3>) bO) c(C dH 2dO) e] fX; Y : an (f+1)-valent optionally branched 3-12C hydrocarbon residue; b : 1-3; c, e : 0-20; d : 2-4; f : 1-4; R 3>R 1>; X : -C(O)-Z-COOH; Z : -(CH 2) g-, -CH=CH-, 1,2-cyclo-hexylene, 3- or 4-methyl-1,2-cyclohexylene, 2-methyl-1,4-cyclohexylene or phthalic anhydride-4,5-diyl; and g : 1-12. An independent claim is also included for a method for the production of (I) by reacting hydroxy-functional siloxanes of formula (II) with carboxylic acid anhydrides of formula (III).
