[EN] Process for the preparation of 2-amino-1,3-propanediol (serinol) or of its salts, in which at least the following stages are carried out: a) a formylation is carried out by reaction of formaldehyde and nitromethane in alkaline aqueous medium; b) the solution obtained is acidified; c) cathodic electroreduction of the acidified solution is carried out; and d) 2-amino-1,3-propanediol or its salt is isolated from the cathodic solution. The cathodic solution can be purified by electro-electrodialysis, which results in a pure aqueous solution of serinol.
[FR] La présente invention concerne un procédé de préparation de l'amino-2-propanediol-1,3 (sérinol) ou de ses sels, dans lequel on réalise au moins les étapes suivantes : a) on réalise une formylation par réaction du formaldéhyde et du nitrométhane en milieu aqueux alcalin; b) on acidifie la solution obtenue; c) on réalise l'électroréduction cathodique de la solution acidifiée; et d) on sépare l'amino-2-propanediol-1,3 ou son sel de la solution cathodique. On peut purifier la solution cathodique par électro-électrodialyse, ce qui conduit à une solution aqueuse pure de sérinol. |
