[EN] The rear suspension of the low loader is raised pneumatically so that the loading surface is above the level of the tops of the rear wheels. A loading ramp is arranged at the rear of the vehicle so that the load is pushed over the ramp and over the rear wheels. The rear wheels are supported on the chassis by short stub axles, and when the loading surface is raised, hinged flaps which normally form the mudguards, fall flat to form part of the loading surface. The system enables the low loader to be loaded/unloaded without having to remove the rear wheels. It also enables the system to be operated by only one man. |
