[EN] Carbon-14 collector comprises a caustic soda composition applied on a net-like support made from a textile or plastic or on paper in an amount for acquiring the sample gas or air. The amount of carbon dioxide present in the surrounding air is used as a measure for the total amount of the sample taken. Preferred Features: The support is formed in folds or in spirals. The caustic soda is mixed with sufficient CO2-free, e.g. distilled water and a gelling agent to form a spreadable or sprayable composition. A semi-permeable membrane, e.g. made from silicone or rubber in tube form is arranged in a gas-tight container filled with caustic soda.
