[EN] The apparatus recognises or verifies a particular person. The apparatus includes a platform laid on or set into the ground. The platform has a pressure sensitive surface on which a person can step. This measures the step or tread of a person. The results of the measurement are conveyed to a computer. The measurement may be of e.g. the pressure or changes in pressure or vibrations from the person's foot or shoe. Alternatively, the sound of the foot or shoe may be recorded by a microphone and analyzed.
