57 Zusammenfassung AB [EN] The invention relates to a method for determining the radiation losses of monomode fibre connections, in accordance with which for the purpose of coupling in a measurement beam upstream of the joint and of coupling out the measurement radiation downstream of the joint a glass fibre is respectively bent with prescribed radii of curvature. In particular, the glass fibre is enclosed in the coupling-in region and in the coupling-out region in guiding and bending channels which form cavities and have defined channel cross-sections and radii of curvature, in order on the one hand to achieve reproducible conditions, and on the other hand to enhance the efficiency of the coupling-in and -out of radiation. In addition, it is possible within the scope of the method according to the invention for a portion of the measurement radiation which is coupled in to be used on the coupling-out side even before the production of the glass fibre connection for the purpose of iterative control or adjustment, as far as the optimum splice point, of the fibre ends which are to be connected. <IMAGE>
