[EN] A commercially-available module is connected into the lamp leads so that the effective voltage supplied to the lamp is reduced to 60-80 per cent of the rated value. The module consists of a triac/diac with a capacitor and resistor. The lower working temp. of the filament increases the useful life of the lamp. To compensate for lower illumination a bulb of higher voltage is used, but the shift towards the red component of the spectrum and reduction of the blue by reduced voltage working can give the effect of brighter illumination in any case. The module can be held in a porcelain insulator with terminals. |
