57 Abstract AB [EN] The invention relates to an electrical drive unit (1) for a motor vehicle, comprising: an electrical machine (2) having a stator (5) and a rotor (6); an inverter (3) having a first switch unit (10) for energizing a first phase system (U, V, W) of the stator (5); a transmission (4) connected to the rotor (6) for torque transmission; a lubricant circuit (14) for lubricating the transmission (4) and/or for cooling the rotor (5); a first cooling circuit (12) for cooling the first switch unit (10); a lubricant-coolant heat exchanger (20) for thermal coupling of the first coolant circuit (12) and the lubricant circuit (14); a control device (21), which is designed to provide a dissipation-increasing operating mode for the first switch unit (10) in order to increase a dissipation heating a coolant of the first coolant circuit (12), wherein the lubricant-coolant heat exchanger (20) is designed to transfer heat from the heated coolant to the lubricant circuit (14) in order to reduce a viscosityof a lubricant (15).
