57 Abstract AB [EN] The invention relates to an artificial hand which has a prosthesis attachment and which possesses a gripper corresponding to the thumb and at least one other gripper corresponding to at least one other finger of the hand, at least one gripper being arranged in such a way that it can be pivoted towards the other gripper, the gripper (3) corresponding to a finger other than the thumb, preferably the index finger and the middle finger, projecting at an obtuse angle from a finger support (1), and the gripper (8') corresponding to the thumb projecting likewise at an obtuse angle from a thumb carrier, and the pivot axis of the respective pivotable carrier, i.e. finger carrier (1) and/or thumb carrier, including an acute angle with the normal plane to the axis (2) of the prosthesis attachment (4), and the drive mechanism being arranged optionally in the finger carrier (1) and/or thumb carrier (7) which are designed sleeve-shaped in order to receive the drive mechanism. <IMAGE>
