[EN] The invention relates to a surface treated mineral material and a process for producing the same by means of laser treatment and water proofing. A preferred planned use of the invention relates to the surface and wall coverings, made of natural and artificial stones for indoor and outdoor areas, optimized, in particular with respect to wear resistance, stain resistance and slip resistance.
